Our school started in 1981 with Son Shine Inn Pre-school and daycare (SSI). Enrollment started with 7 children and has since grown to over 78 children a year by offering a safe, loving atmoshpere with a Christian foundation. SSI is open year-round and is licensed to care for children from 2 1/2 to 12 years of age. the staff at SSI serves our students Monday through Friday from 6:00am until 5:30pm.

Preschool is offered four days a week and indruces the children to art, science, bible, music and movement, field trips and social experiences.

A K-4 program (pre-kindergarten for 4 year olds) was added for children whose parents wanted a more rigorous preparation for kindergarten

TLC Christian School (TLC) opened its doors in 1990 with a total of 5 kindergarten children being taught by two parents. Enrollment for the 2006-2007 school year was 76 in kindergarten through 8th grade.

Our academic standards are high with added emphasis on patriotism and character building.

In 2006 our school became a 501C3 and is called Salida Christian School (SCS). SCS serves families of all religious denominations and walks of life.

The mission of SCS is to provide an excellent academic education for sutdents in preschool through 8th grade in a caring Christian environment. The underlying permise is stated in our bylaws. We believe it is our duty and privilege as Christians to provide Christian education for our children and to assist parents in our community to meet their duty to provide their children with a high quality Christian education.
